Matheus is an attorney with experience in strategic civil litigation. His practice focuses on advising national and international clients in complex commercial disputes involving contractual matters, commercial litigation, compliance, administrative law, and public contracts. He also works on regulatory law issues, with an emphasis on the maritime and electric power sectors.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M., First Class) from the University of Cambridge – King’s College, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Brasília. He has additional training through the AI Policy Fellowship at the Cambridge AI Safety Hub, in Human Rights at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and in The American Law and Language Program at The Ohio State University.
As part of his complementary activities, Matheus serves as a member of the Brazilian delegation to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Director at CasaInfra (a think tank focused on the infrastructure sector), and Fiscal Council Member of the Instituto Fome de Música. He is also a member of the Compliance, Corporate Governance and ESG; Environmental Law and Sustainability; and Carbon Credit Committees of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/DF), in addition to being a member of the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S).
