Tax Partner at Madruga BTW, Marcelo Macedo has extensive experience in Tax Law, with a strong focus on federal administrative litigation and consistent practice in tax consulting.
He held the position of Counselor at the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF), within the First Judgment Section, specializing in Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ) and Social Contribution on Net Profit (CSLL), where he also served as Vice President of the 2nd Regular Panel of the 2nd Chamber of the 1st Section.
Marcelo was an attorney in the Tax team at “Madrona Advogados” in São Paulo, primarily focusing on federal administrative litigation and providing strategic tax consulting to companies and individuals. His work included assisting with audits conducted by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Office and managing various administrative tax proceedings arising from assessments related to “Lava Jato” operation.
Dedicated to academia as well, he was a Seminar Professor in the specialization course in Tax Law at Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies (IBET/SP) and served as an Assistant Professor in Tax Law courses at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP).
Marcelo holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), a specialization in Tax Law from IBET/SP, a Master’s degree in Tax Law from PUC/SP, and a Doctorate in Economic, Financial, and Tax Law from the School of Law at the University of São Paulo (USP).
