Sylvia Steiner works in matters related to International Law, focusing on sanctioning rules for money laundering and terrorist financing, in addition to judicial cooperation and extradition obligations.
Steiner holds a Master’s degree in International Law from FADUSP, was a Judge of the Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region and Federal Circuit Prosecutor. The former judge was the only Brazilian to join the International Criminal Court. She has extensive academic experience, including a Masters in Civil Procedure from PUC-SP and a PhD in Constitutional Law from the Federal University of Pernambuco. For her postdoctoral research, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Münster, Germany. She is the author of numerous articles published in Brazil and abroad.
